Expert Advice:

• Don’t shave at night because your face is more sensitive at that time (it can hurt more), and it’s not as relaxed as in the morning, making it easier to nick your skin.

• Shave before breakfast. The chewing action during your meal increases blood flow to your jaw, around your mouth, and around your eyes, making shaving after breakfast more prone to bleeding.

• Wash your face thoroughly with warm water before shaving to both disinfect your face and open your pores, making it easier for the razor to glide smoothly.

• Always shave in the direction of your hair growth.
